“The Word of God
 is the king of words
and its pervasive influence is incalculable.
It hath ever dominated
and will continue to dominate
 the realm of being…
…The Word is the master key for the whole world
inasmuch through its potency
the doors of the hearts of men,
which in reality are the doors of heaven,
are unlocked…”

Bahá’u’lláh

Year 180 B. E. – Bahá/Splendour – Month 4 – ʻAẓamat/Grandeur

I IMPLORE Thee by the splendour of the light of Thy glorious face,
the majesty of Thine ancient grandeur
and the power of Thy transcendent sovereignty
to ordain for us at this moment every measure
of that which is good and seemly
and to destine for us every portion
of the outpourings of Thy grace.
(The Báb, Selections From the Writings of the Báb, p. 186)

Day 4 – ʻAẓamat/Grandeur & Jalál/Glory

I IMPLORE Thee by the splendour of the light of Thy glorious face,
the majesty of Thine ancient grandeur
and the power of Thy transcendent sovereignty
to ordain for us at this moment every measure
of that which is good and seemly
and to destine for us every portion
of the outpourings of Thy grace.
(The Báb, Selections From the Writings of the Báb, p.186)

Glory be unto Thee, O my God,
indeed no mind or vision,
however keen or discriminating,
can ever grasp the nature
of the most insignificant of Thy signs.
(The Báb, Selections From the Writings of the Báb, p.203)

Day 5 – Núr/Light & Jamál/Beauty

He is God; glorified is the splendour of His light.
The verses in this Tablet are revealed
for the one who hath believed in the signs of her Lord
and is reckoned among such as are wholly devoted unto Him.
(The Báb, Selections From the Writings of the Báb, p.163)

And when He intoneth the anthems of the greatness
of God all Paradise
waileth in its longing to gaze on His Beauty,
and when He chanteth words of praise and glorification of God
all Paradise becomes motionless
like unto ice locked in the heart of a frost-bound mountain.
(The Báb, Selections From the Writings of the Báb, p 54)

Day 6 – Raḥmat/Mercy & Kamál/Perfection

I beg Thee by Thyself, O my God, my Lord and my Master,
to intercede in my behalf. I have fled from Thy justice unto Thy mercy.
(The Báb, Selections From the Writings of the Báb, p.204)

NO created thing shall ever attain its paradise
unless it appeareth in its highest prescribed degree of perfection.
(The Báb, Selections From the Writings of the Báb, p.88)

Day 7 – Kalimát/Words & Fidál/Grace

But should the Primal Point cease to be with you,
then the judgement given in the Words of God
shall be final and unalterable and every one will assuredly uphold it.
(The Báb, Selections From the Writings of the Báb, p.36)

Send down upon me, as a token of Thy grace,
Thy vitalizing breezes, throughout the day-time and in the night season, O Lord of bounty.
(The Báb, Selections From the Writings of the Báb, p.191)

Day 8 – Kamál/Perfection & `Idál/Justice

Its raiment is the fear of God,
and its perfection steadfastness in His Faith.
(Bahá’u’lláh, Gleanings From the Writings of Bahá’u’lláh, p.291)

The essence of all that We have revealed for thee is Justice,
is for man to free himself from idle fancy and imitation,
discern with the eye of oneness His glorious handiwork,
and look into all things with a searching eye.
(Bahá’u’lláh, Tablets of Bahá’u’lláh Revealed After the Kitáb-i-Aqdas, p.157)

Day 9 – Asmáʼ/Names & Istijlál/Majesty

We have made thee the manifestation of Our sovereignty
and the dayspring of Our Names.
(Bahá’u’lláh, The Summons of the Lord of Hosts, p.21)

He, verily, is come unto the nations in His most great majesty.
Turn your faces towards Him, O concourse of the righteous!
(Bahá’u’lláh, The Summons of the Lord of Hosts, p.59)

Day 10 – ʻIzzat/Might & Istiqlál/Independence

Know thou that, through the power of His sovereign might,
God hath seized him who was the foremost amongst them
that passed judgement against Us.
(Bahá’u’lláh, The Summons of the Lord of Hosts, p.177)

Then wouldst thou find thyself raised up
to the summit of exaltation and glory,
and elevated to the pinnacle of majesty and independence.
(Bahá’u’lláh, The Summons of the Lord of Hosts, p.102)

“The understanding of His words
and the comprehension of the utterances of the Birds of Heaven
are in no wise dependent upon human learning.
They depend solely upon purity of heart,
chastity of soul,
   freedom of spirit.”
